Lavender Cottage is the main house on the property and has grown organically from the original slab hut and sandstone floor, built in 1822.

Lavender Cottage has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large separate kitchen and beautiful dining room. Lavender Cottage is equipped with sufficient table settings for twenty-four guests. Groups with guests staying at the other cottages can congregate here for meals as the dining room seats twelve and there are outdoor barbeque facilities for twenty. Upstairs at Lavender there is a luxurious king sized bedroom with en suite and reverse cycle air conditioning.

An additional single bed and office/sitting area have been added to make this a self-contained apartment if required. Downstairs, a main king bedroom has an additional three single beds and en suite bathroom, suitable for a family. The two additional king and queen bedrooms share a bathroom with a deep claw-footed bath. There is also a timber cot, a port-a-cot and highchair, neatly tucked away if not needed. The living room has a slow combustion stove that heats the whole house and French doors that open up on to the veranda and barbeque area. Parents can relax at Lavender Cottage as there is a clear view to the tree house and swing from the comfort of the cottage’s living areas and verandah. The kitchen has an extra large electric stove with gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and large fridge with freezer. It is well-equipped and spacious enough for outside caterers to work with ease if required.

Lavender has been the hub for many larger groups over the years. We have hosted wedding parties, writers’ retreats, corporate conferences, golf weekends, family reunions, meditation groups, quilting and sewing groups.
